Jersey Hospice Care is celebrating one year of it’s ‘new look’ town shop and 40 years of Jersey Hospice Care with a birthday party including special guest, social media influencer, Charity Shop Girl aka Jennifer Graham (@charityshopgirlcsg).

The TikTok and Instagram second hand fashion advocate highlightsto her almost 100,000 followers, why we should all be more sustainable when it comes to our shopping habits.  Her videos, which have been viewed more than 700 million times, explain the benefits of shopping for pre-loved items, from re-using and recycling to the simple enjoyment of stumbling across an amazing find.

The store located at 13 Union Street, will be celebrating from 10am to 4pm on Saturday 8th April and invites anyone passing to pop in for some cake and have a mooch around to see what pre-loved fashion gems they can find.

The store was re-fitted in 2022 to create a bright, modern space welcoming anyone who wants to buy great quality clothing, shoes and accessories in a sustainable way, while supporting a local charity that is close to many hearts.

Hospice Shop Manager, Julie Bell, said: “We delighted to welcome Charity Shop Girl to celebrate with us.  This birthday party is an opportunity to show off our store andencourage people to think about how they shop. You'll find everything from basic tees and athleisure to statement pieces and vintage finds.

The high street has changed with the loss of shops, the growth of internet buying and shopper demand for more sustainable and ethical shopping. We want to help promote re-useand encourage buying local, by offering a great range of pre-loved clothes and accessories at great prices. The fantastic range and quality of stock we have on offer is only possible due to the generous donations we receive.Whether you are buying or donating, you are making a difference to our charity and contributing to the circular economy.

The St Helier and St Ouen fundraising shops enable Jersey Hospice Care to support people in our community with a life-limiting illness - every donation or item purchased makes a difference to support patients and make sure they receive the personalised care they need.

Both shops areopen six days a week, Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm (St Ouen donation drop off point closes at 3:30pm).
