We know that many people have experienced trauma related to their experience of care.

BBC Four is showing a ‘Storyville’ episode on Monday 15 March. This will explore the background to the Independent Jersey Care Inquiry. We know that for some people this will be a trigger for trauma, pain and anger. We would like to make people aware that each of our organisations (and many others) can help.

We are:

Mind Jersey (www.mindjersey.org) – we can support you if you would like to work through how your experiences of care have impacted your mental health. You can contact Hugo Forrester on 01534 880315, 07797 774525 or h.forrester@mindjersey.org.

Brighter Futures (www.brighterfutures.org.je) – we can support you as a family if you feel your care experience, whether current or previous, affects family life. You can contact Fiona Brennan on 01534 449487 or info@brighterfutures.org.je.

Jersey Cares (www.jerseycares.je) – we can work alongside you to help you speak out, or speak out on your behalf, about things which you would like to be tackled around your care experience. We can work with anyone over the age of 5! You can contact Suzanne Day on suzanne@jerseycares.je or 07700 722009.
