Sure’s data centres in Guernsey and Jersey have achieved the renewal of the ISO27001 accreditation following a rigorous auditing process ensuring customers continue to benefit from the highest data security standards.

In order to obtain the accreditation, Sure, which has been accredited in Jersey since 2014 and in Guernsey since 2015, had to demonstrate that its data centres have robust governance in place which is supported by senior management.

The ISO27001 is a European standard and demonstrates that Sure’s data centres comply with the latest safety and security requirements.

Information housed in the data centres is safeguarded by the latest information security policies and processes, up-to-date staff training and effective data controls.

Both of Sure’s data centres are also Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) certified which provides increased security controls for businesses that handle cardholders’ data.

Chief digital officer at Sure Justin Bellinger said: “Our data centres are connected to one of the world’s largest and fastest global networks and house the best in robust, industry-compliant technology for a simple reason – the security and reliability of our customers’ information is of paramount importance to us.

“The recent assessment and subsequent renewal of our ISO27001 accreditation confirms that Sure continues to offer safety, security and continuous connectivity to our global customer base as standard and, when combined with our PCI DSS certification, that our centres offer an industry-leading service that is a credit to Sure and the islands.”
