Grand Jersey’s fine dining restaurant Tassili is championing the best of local beef with a special grazing menu to celebrate Great British Beef Week.

Guests at the AA Five Star St Helier hotel will tuck into some deliciously meaty dishes, with the beef supplied by Classic Farm in St Peter.

The special grazing menu, available until Saturday 28thApril, includes a starter of Jersey beef fillet carpaccio, local oyster mayonnaise and pepper dulse, served with sea bean and sea water foam.

For the main, smoked Jersey Angus sirloin, black garlic purée and kale is accompanied by Jersey Royal espuma and baked roscoff onion.

Classic Farm’s beef herd is an Aberdeen Angus cross which the Genuine Jersey members say adds body and taste, giving it a richer fuller flavour and producing a very impressive beef.

Executive Chef, Nicolas Valmagna, who is preparing the grazing menu, said, “Tassili’s Restaurant Manager Kirstie Thorpe-Jones and I are both passionate about using the best quality produce and we are really fortunate to have such a fantastic herd on the Island creating this wonderfully tasty beef.”

Great British Beef Week is in its eighth year and runs until Monday 30thApril.
