The out of hours GP service, known as JDOC, (Jersey Doctors On Call) which is currently based in the Emergency Department, will move temporarily to another part of the Hospital tomorrow (from Tuesday 29 January.)

The service will move back into its former home, the Gwyneth Huelin Wing at the other end of the Hospital, for around three months, to allow time for a training programme with the JDOC receptionists to take place. The out of hours GP service has been based in the Emergency Department since Spring 2018. Once the training programme is complete, then the service will move back to the Emergency Dept.

Head of JDOC, Dr Phil Terry said: “Both HCS and JDOC have been very pleased with the way the two services work together in the Emergency Department. This temporary move will allow some essential training to take place, and we want to make islanders aware of this temporary move.”
The out of hours service also offers telephone advice as well as out of hours GP appointments.

The contact details for the GP out of hours service remain the same. You can contact the out of hours GP service on 445445 or via the Hospital switchboard on 442000 and find information about it on gov.je here: https://www.gov.je/Health/DoctorDentist/Doctors/Pages/OutHours.aspx
