The Town Centre Partnership’s summer music programme is due to finish this weekend, with performances from Kate Kelleway and Olivia Younger in Market Square on Saturday (28 September) and GU10 at Candie Gardens on Sunday (29 September).

The performances will round off a successful 21 weeks of performances in both venues which began in May and have featured a wide array of local and visiting musicians such as The University of Chichester Wind Band, Jazz Accord, John Byrne, Guernsey Concert Brass and The Ukuladeez.

Jack Honeybill, executive officer of the Town Centre Partnership said the concerts had once again been a success.

‘It is a lot of work to stage 42 open-air concerts all through the summer, but the impact the events have on St Peter Port’s vibrancy and the response the initiative receives from the public has made it an annual priority for us.

‘We are hugely grateful to Brooks Macdonald for sponsoring the Saturday series and to the Town Centre Partnership’s main sponsor the Ana Leaf Foundation and Guernsey Arts Commission for covering the Sunday series,’ he said.

Plans are already confirmed for the programme to return next year, with the season commencing at Market Square on 11 May.

‘We will, as ever, be showcasing high calibre local talent while also welcoming some interesting acts from overseas. More details on line-up will be available next year,’ said Mr Honeybill.

Those interested in attending the final concerts of this year’s season can see Kate Kelleway at 12.15pm and Olivia Younger at 1.30pm this Saturday at Market Square and GU10 at 3pm this Sunday in Candie Gardens.
