Islanders are being invited to find out about the 2014 Budget proposals at three public meetings and an online forum which are being held ahead of the States debate on 3 December.

At the meetings, Islanders will be able to have their Budget questions answered by the Treasury and Resources Minister, Senator Philip Ozouf; Assistant Minister, Deputy Eddie Noel and the Treasurer of the States, Laura Rowley. Senator Ozouf will also be answering questions in an online forum.

“This is a Budget that provides direct financial relief to taxpaying Islanders and helps to get money back into the economy, and it is important that people have the chance to understand – and ask questions about – such an important proposal before it goes to the States,” Senator Ozouf said. “These public meetings will give Islanders the opportunity to find out more. We want people to engage with us and to understand what is being proposed, and why.”

The meetings are:

  • Thursday 21 November at St Paul’s Centre, St Helier, from 7 pm
  • Monday 25 November at the RJA&HS, Trinity, from 7 pm
  • Wednesday 27 November at the Halliwell Theatre, Newgate Street, St Helier from 12.45 to 2.15 pm. (The Halliwell Theatre is situated opposite the Opera House and next to the Gwyneth Huelin entrance of the General Hospital).

Senator Ozouf’s online forum is on Wednesday 27 November from 5.30 pm to 6.45 pm. Details of the forum will be announced later.
