An eclectic musical repertoire, locally made arts and crafts and a colourful park are among the things not to miss this weekend.
Each week, Bailiwick Wellbeing shares a selection of sporty and community local events for you to get involved in.
Here are the top picks...
When? Saturday 11 February
Where? Royal Showground
What? If you like science and the arts, this is the festival for you. With live music, stage performances, street performers, animal shows, workshops, food stalls, interactive areas and more, there will be something for all!
When? From Sunday 12 to Sunday 19 February – 18:00 to 21:00
Where? Howard Davis Park
What? The trees of Howard Davis Park are coming alive with the sound of music… and light this half-term. Come explore the illuminated park and learn more about Jersey’s fantastic trees and the exciting scientific research that shows how trees communicate and share resources across a ‘wood wide web’.
For the island’s first park illuminations event, sound artist and film score composer Tony Langlois has developed a bespoke soundscape.
Be sure to stay for something special when the clock strikes on the hour.
When? Saturday 10 February – 09:00 to 16:00
Where? St. Ouen Parish Hall
What? Looking for a unique gift for Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day or someone special? Come and see a selection of art, crafts and other items made by local artisans.
When? Saturday 11 February – 19:30
Where? Les Quennevais School
What? Students, staff, family and friends of the Jersey Academy of Music are getting together for an orchestral programme featuring requests from the academy’s senior students.
