An app-niversary, an Easter trail and some rugby on the telly - this weekend has something for all ages and tastes.
Each week, Bailiwick Wellbeing shares a selection of sporty and community local events for you to get involved in.
Here are the top picks...
When? Saturday 15 April - 10:00 to 12:30
Where? Millbrook Park
What? A free event for all families with young children to celebrate the first anniversary of the 50 Things to Do Before You’re 5 app, launched by the Government of Jersey and the Best Start Partnership to support children and families after the pandemic.
Early years representatives will be offering free stalls and activities taken from the app, which offers suggestions for a range of low-cost and no-cost activities, including bubble blowing, sing and sign, sensory play, stories and poems, den building, water play, face painting, bug hunting, forest school activities, and live theatre and music.
Jersey Water and Sandpiper will support the event by providing free fruit and water, and families are invited to bring a picnic to the event. In addition, there will be 300 free goodie bags available on the day.
When? Saturday 15 April - 15:00
What? The Reds may not be playing at home this weekend but you can still watch their game on streaming!
When? Saturday 15 April
Where? St. Helier
What? This Saturday is your last chance to find the 35 eggs hidden by the Easter Buddy in St. Helier's shop windows.
Download the trail map here or collect one from the Town Hall or any participating shop, collect all the eggs, find what words they spell and submit your answers online. There's a £20 Bambola voucher and a hamper from Alison’s Hallmark up for grabs and the winners will be announced on Monday 17 April.
When? Sunday 16th April - 10:15 to 12:30
Where? St. Ouen's Bay - meet at Sands car park
What? Come help the National Trust for Jersey and The Jersey Conservation Volunteers manage the invasive and non-native Purple Dew Plant from St. Ouen's Bay. Native from South Africa, this houseplant has a high tolerance to coastal conditions and can easily take root in sand. As a result, it has now carpeted much of the local native sea plants (AlderneySea Lavender, Sea Purslane, Sea Beet, & Rock Samphire) and dispersed some pollinators such as solitary bees that would otherwise use those native plants as important nesting sites.
