From Pride to Heritage Open Days and the Dragonboat Festival, this weekend is truly one of celebration.

CI Pride

When? Saturday 16 September

Where? Parade starts from the Royal Square, the Pride Village will be in People’s Park

What? Join the Channel Islands Pride Parade which will be gathering from 12:00 in the Royal Square, before leaving at 13:00 to head to the Pride Village in People's Park and Victoria Park. There will be several stages with a large variety of local and UK acts, as well as a silent disco, a free family zone, an exhibition on the journey of LGBTQ rights locally and globally as well as a range of food vendors showcasing different cuisines.

Heritage Open Days

When? Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 September – 10:00 to 16:00

Where? Various locations

What? Several of the National Trust for Jersey’s properties will open their doors this weekend. In addition, The Elms main house, dower, walled garden and joinery workshop will also be open to the public.

Islanders are also invited to join family history guide Sue Gorin on a circular walk around the lanes of St. Mary and the top of St. Peter’s Valley. Find the tracks which were once said to be our roads and discover how each family of the parish would take a part in mending and repairing these roads. The walk will also cover the life of intrigue of Gigoulande Mill, so bring suitable footwear as it might get muddy. Free.

Where? Jersey Museum, Art Gallery & Victorian House

What? To celebrate this year’s European Heritage Days, entry is free to Jersey Museum, Art Gallery & Victorian House.

The theme for the 2023 days is ‘living heritage’, which refers to the practices, knowledge and skills that have been passed from one generation to the next and are still in use today. Come to Jersey Museum and explore the galleries, including our new ‘Bouan Appétit!’ exhibition, where you can discover more about our living heritage of food, farming, fishing and cooking.

Norman Market

When? Until Sunday 17 September at 16:45

Where? Weighbridge

What? The Norman Market is back in Jersey for the second time this year with sausage sandwiches, crepes, fruit, vegetables, cheese, cider, calvados, saucissons, rillettes, soaps, bags, honey, biscuits, jams, mustard and more.
