AFM has launched a new division to deal with mechanical services within its clients’ properties.

Mechanical services will be lead by Shane Rosamond, who has been promoted to the position of manager. Previously, Mr Rosamond was assistant manager of the planned preventative maintenance division at the facilities management company.

‘Shane has worked with AFM since 2002, but came into the office environment as assistant PPM Manager in 2014.  The majority of his time was taken up with reactive work and this prompted the business to review his position due to the amount of activity being handled on a daily basis.  Following discussions with the board of directors it was decided to rebrand the reactive side of PPM as mechanical services. Shane was offered a promotion into a managerial role which he gladly accepted,’ said Martyn Pipet, senior manager at AFM.

Mark Edgar, AFM’s managing director, added ‘This is an exciting new division for AFM and we are confident that Shane has the expertise and the capabilities to ensure his team reacts efficiently and effectively to all our client’s needs.’

Prior to joining AFM, Mr Rosamond, completed a five-year States apprenticeship in mechanics which was split between working at Guernsey Auto & Electrical Supplies as a trainee auto electrician and at SGB, servicing and repairing a wide variety of plant ranging from pressure washers to mechanical diggers.  He moved to SSL International (Simco) as a machine-setting engineer, working with mechanical electrical and pneumatic packaging machinery, progressing to team leader over the four years he was there.
