Aurigny Air Services is delighted to announced it has appointed Chris Holliday as a non-executive Director, bringing with him over 30 years of aviation experience.
Mr Holliday strengthens the mix of skills and experience on the Board and will bring with him a wealth of industry experience, having worked for regional airlines, aircraft manufacturers and an industry association.
The 53-year-old currently runs his own consultancy business Energy Aviation Services, which specialises in regional aviation and is also a non-executive Director of Cranfield Aerospace Solutions Ltd.
Mr Holliday says he hopes his years of experience and knowledge of regional aviation will benefit the Board:
“I have always been interested in lifeline services, such as those Aurigny provide. That is the real attraction – the community aspect. How the airline contributes to the community and acts as a vital part of island life. During my years in the industry, I have always been aware of Aurigny and followed its activities with interest. I look forward to applying my experience in the aviation industry to the role and to help Aurigny provide the best possible services in the future. With important things like the strategic review happening now, it is a great time to make a contribution.”
Mr Holliday began his aviation career in 1985, working for the then British Aerospace, now BAE Systems.
He has held roles with the European Regions Airline Association and Slingsby Aviation, before moving to Eastern Airways, where he held various roles including chief operating officer.
While at Eastern Airways he was also seconded to Air Southwest, where he was the accountable manager.
Mr Holliday graduated from Bristol University, where he gained a degree in aeronautical engineering.
He is married, with one son and lives in Leeds.
