C5 Alliance in Guernsey has appointed Leyla Abreu as a consultant in its growing project delivery team.

An accomplished project manager, Miss Abreu has more than 15 years’ experience working in the financial services industry. Returning to the island after working in London in the operations and shared services division of a global organisation, Miss Abreu has worked in numerous jurisdictions including Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Australia, Argentina and Sri Lanka.

A registered PRINCE2 (PRojects IN Controlled Environments 2) Practitioner and Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, her varied experiences include managing the post-merger IT and premises integration of an acquired business and the creation of a shared services operation unit in Malaysia and China. This project resulted in significant cost savings and formed a crucial part of the successful delivery of a target operating model.

In her new role Miss Abreu will assist C5’s project delivery team in supporting business transformation and change, with a particular focus on bringing governance structure, business understanding and operational efficiencies to client projects.

Simon Tidd, head of C5’s project delivery team, said: “We’re pleased to welcome Leyla to the team, which has developed significantly in the past year. Her qualifications and multi-jurisdictional experience equip her with a formidable skillset and understanding of cultural differences – crucial qualities for successful project and change management.

“The team continues to expand and diversify in response to considerable demand from the market. The last few years have seen big increases in mergers and acquisitions, shifts in the competitive landscape and growing regulatory demands. This has resulted in a greater appetite for organisational change and a need to continue to ensure the resulting projects are managed effectively.

“Since joining, Leyla has already worked with a large client to segregate its technical work stream following the acquisition of one of its major divisions. Here she has clearly demonstrated her ability to achieve key deliverables with minimal disruption to the business and I have no doubt that she will be a huge asset to the team over the coming years.”
