A Christmas service for people to remember loved ones who have passed away is being held at the Town Church on Sunday 10th December.
The public service, in aid of Les Bourgs Hospice, will feature hand-written dedications from people in memory of loved ones. These dedication tags will be attached to Christmas trees, which will be then lit up during the service. The dedications will also be displayed on Christmas trees at the hospice after the service.
‘Christmas is often a time when we think about our loved ones, including those who have passed away. Our Light up a Life service is a way to remember those people in a special way, and all are welcome to attend,’ said fundraising administrator Trish De Carteret.
People who wish to provide a dedication, special leaflets can be picked up from the hospice in St Andrews or from the Les Bourgs Hospice Shops. They’re also being delivered through letter boxes via newsagents for free.
‘People will need to send the dedications to us here at the hospice ahead of the service. Donations for the hospice are much appreciated but not essential,’ added Mrs De Carteret.
The service is normally held at Les Bourgs Hospice in St Andrews, but this year is taking place at the Town Church due to roadworks. People wishing to attend are asked to arrive from 3.30pm for a 4pm start, with public parking available on the Albert Pier.
