Four corporate lawyers promoted at Carey Olsen

Carey Olsen has promoted four lawyers to senior associate bringing the number of senior associates in its Channel Islands corporate team to 29.

The new year promotions include John Scanlan in the Guernsey office and Rose Clements, Emma German and David Taylor in the Jersey office.

John Scanlan advises corporates, institutions and private equity sponsors and funds on the structuring and restructuring of local and international acquisitions and disposals of funds and other regulated entities. He also works on listings and general regulatory and corporate matters. Prior to joining Carey Olsen in 2012, he spent a number of years as a solicitor in the corporate team of the City law firm where he qualified.

Emma German advises local and international financial institutions and private clients on Jersey corporate and finance law and, in particular, Jersey investment holding structures. She also advises on the issue and listing of debt securities on the Channel Islands Securities Exchange. She is an Advocate of the Royal Court of Jersey, an English barrister and solicitor and joined Carey Olsen in 2005.

Rose Clements has acted on a range of banking, real estate finance, corporate finance and structured finance matters. She also specialises in advising financial institutions and corporate borrowers in relation to property finance transactions involving Jersey structures. She was admitted to the New Zealand bar in 2006 and joined Carey Olsen in 2012.

David Taylor advises corporates, institutions and private equity sponsors and funds on a range of international and domestic acquisitions, disposals, restructurings and general corporate and commercial transactions. He joined Carey Olsen in 2010 having trained and qualified as a solicitor in the UK.
