Guernsey FC match-goers will have a new win in their sights at all future home games.
The club, in conjunction with Rossborough Insurance, is launching the 50-50 draw, which will see fans in the running for a cash prize.
Tickets will be sold for £1 at all home games from Saturday 8th February.
The weekly prize will depend on the number of tickets sold, with half going to the winner and half to the club.
Rossborough, which is covering the cost of printing the tickets, will also add £100 to the weekly winner’s half of the prize pot.
Andy Richards, communications manager at Guernsey FC, said the draw would provide match-goers with a great opportunity to win a bit of cash, while at the same time benefitting the club.
‘On average we get more than 1,000 islanders along to every home game. The hope is that as many of those as possible will buy a ticket for only £1 and they could walk away with a few hundred pounds,’ he said.
‘We are extremely grateful to Rossborough for sponsoring this initiative. Hopefully that extra £100 in the prize pot each week will encourage even more people to take a punt, bringing much needed funds into the club.’
The draws will start this Saturday at the match against Eastbourne Town.
Draws will then take place at each on of the last six home matches of the season.
‘Rossborough is a great supporter of Guernsey FC and all that it does for local sport and the harnessing community spirit. We have a lot to be proud of in the team and we hope that this prize draw will generate as much money as possible for the lads,’ said Ian Stewart, director at Rossborough.
‘Rossborough responded at the end of last season when the club launched its 60 Saviours campaign to help the team realise their FA Cup dream. This is just another way that we can help Guernsey FC continue the excellent work it does.’
