Guernsey Electricity business performance review

MEDIA RELEASE: The views expressed in this article are those of the author and not Bailiwick Express, and the text is reproduced exactly as supplied to us

"Guernsey Electricity is currently undertaking a rigorous review of our whole business looking for efficiency gains, better ways of working and more effective ways to serve our customers.

As part of this process we have undertaken a complete review of our organisation structure to ensure that those activities that are vital to providing security of supply and a great customer experience are clearly aligned and have appropriate executive level focus.

Today we have concluded our consultation with the 190 permanent staff impacted by the restructure and have placed 173 staff into post and have notified 17 staff from across the company that their role is redundant. We will be working with the affected staff to provide support during this difficult period.

The new organisation will provide the foundation for the ongoing transformation of the business and enable us to focus on building trust with all our stakeholders, improving our customer experience, providing the island with the electricity infrastructure we need for the future and maintaining the affordability of electricity for all residents."
