Guernsey Finance has appointed Kate Clouston as its first Director of International Business Development.
Miss Clouston, who has joined Guernsey Finance this month, will be responsible for leading additional international business development work, with a particular focus on evaluating and developing new geographical markets. She will also be involved in identifying and implementing development strategies around emerging financial products and attracting new companies to Guernsey.
Miss Clouston, who can speak six languages including Chinese and Arabic, has previous experience as a Programme Head for the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI), the independent British think tank engaged in cutting edge defence and security research, as a Media Analyst for Edelman StrategyOne and as a Senior Researcher at the House of Commons.
Her educational background includes graduating from Georgetown University with a degree in foreign languages and literature and gaining a master’s degree in European politics and governance from the London School of Economics and Political Science. More recently, she was awarded an Executive MBA at the Richard Ivey School of Business in Hong Kong where she won the Ivey Scholar Award as the top student in her year.
