Organisers of the 2014 Guernsey Livingroom Customer Service Awards have announced that the nomination period for this year’s event is now open.
Produced in association with the Island’s Chamber of Commerce, the Awards celebrate excellence, best practice and innovation in customer service. Their aim is to highlight the contribution great customer service can make to a business’s success – particularly in today’s environment.
The general public is encouraged to nominate an individual or team on Guernsey who really has gone beyond the call of duty to offer excellent customer service. With previous winners such as the team at Le Mont Saint Garage (pictured), staff at Perelle Bakery, partners at Waitrose and self-employed baker, Michelle Arundale from Berries Bakery, there is a category for everyone.
This year there is also a focus on a young person who has already shown promise - it could be a part-time teenager who works only on a Saturday, or a person in their first job - but someone who is young and showing they have great attributes in offering the customer what he or she wants.
Founder Julie Todd urges everyone gets involved. ‘We have all experienced good and bad service in Guernsey, and social media makes it easier than ever for us to complain when things aren’t right. The awards give the great Guernsey public the chance to redress the balance and reward those who do a fabulous job - often unsung - day-in and day-out. It is free to nominate a team or individual, and you could really make someone’s day by doing so.’
Voting runs until Friday 13 June, and can be made online at www.thecustomerserviceawards.com; by text to 07781 476276; or by filling in a nomination form to be found island-wide throughout the voting period.
Awards ceremony on Thursday 3rd July, in Market Square, compered by Island FM.
