Guernsey Triathlon Club’s Island Games squad for the 2015 Games in Jersey has been boosted with a surprise funding commitment from EI Sturdza Investment Funds.

The company’s sponsorship will assist with travel and logistics for the team of ten competing triathletes and three reserves.

Simon March, Team Manager from the Guernsey Triathlon Club, said the additional support would be extremely useful.

“EI Sturdza Investment Funds’ sponsorship will be used to cover the cost of the teams’ travel and accommodation for their week in Jersey. This will provide substantial support for the team travelling to the 2015 Jersey Natwest Island Games.

“The deal will also include sufficient funding to allow further key individuals to travel and assist the team on the day of the race. This is a very welcome commitment for which I, on behalf of the team and Guernsey Triathlon Club, am very grateful.”

Adam Turberville, Head of Marketing and Client Relations at EI Sturdza said: “As an active player in the Guernsey financial services industry we are proud to support regional events such as the Island Games and we wish all the triathlon team members a successful Games.”

Last year Guernsey Triathlon, which has been supported by the Ana Leaf Foundation since 2006, confirmed that Amy Critchlow, Magda Puzio, James Travers, Ben Creasey, Mat Dorian, Alan Rowe, James Gower, Bob Guilbert, Sean Murphy and Max Thornton will all compete in Jersey, with reserves Martin Chapman, Jon Osborne and Pippa Inderwick.
