An evening of glitz and glamour is coming to Guernsey next month courtesy of The HUB service which provides emotional support to children and young people through The Youth Commission.

The Hollywood-themed black tie ball, sponsored by The Ana Leaf Foundation, takes place on Saturday 11 November at St Pierre Park Hotel and 170 guests will be dressing up in the most glamourous outfits that befit the world of film stars.

After a customary red carpet entrance, guests will enjoy a champagne reception, while being entertained by a young singer from the School of Popular Music.  Other entertainment during the evening will include performances from GATE and the Avril Earl Centre as well as a local covers band “Youthe”.

The Youth Commission’s Patron, His Excellency Vice Admiral Sir Ian Corder and Lady Corder will be attending as VIP guests.

Jane St Pier, Chair of The Youth Commission said: “The ball is being held to celebrate the fifth anniversary of The HUB which provides emotional wellbeing services to children and young people.  Over this time it has provided vital support to over 2,000 children and young people in Guernsey and Alderney.  It is going to be a wonderful evening.

“Thanks to the support from The Ana Leaf Foundation which has covered the set up costs of the ball, all the money raised on the night will go towards The HUB to support the important emotional wellbeing work the team does with young people locally. “The HUB offers a safe and confidential space for children and young people to access one-to-one, structured and evidence-based emotional support. The Youth Commission operationally merged with The HUB service in July this year and the two charities now work together to provide a wide range of services, from universal to targeted support, for children and young people across Guernsey and Alderney.

Guests will have the opportunity to bid for a variety of prizes in an auction, including a week long holiday in a luxury Tuscan villa.

Hayley de Putron, a Trustee of The Ana Leaf Foundation and Commissioner of The Youth Commission said: “The Youth Commission is such an important charity whose vision is to empower young people to reach their full potential.  We hope that everyone will reach deep into their pockets and help to raise as much as possible for The HUB to support its fantastic work.”
