Indulge Media’s managing director and designer Russell Isabelle has joined only 2,909* other people in the world to become User Experience (UX) certified by the Nielson Norman Group.

To earn the UX certification each participant must complete five courses at the UX Conference. Each course is designed to give UX professionals more insightful ways to measure user experience on their clients’ websites and analyse user behaviours in more detail.

Specialists in web design and search engine optimisation; Indulge Media was launched in 2009 by Patrick Cunningham and Russell Isabelle and now boasts an eight strong team in Guernsey and Oxford.

Mr Isabelle has specialised in UX research due to his background in graphic design; this specialist topic covers a range of techniques for gathering meaningful, actionable information about user behaviour.

Mr Isabelle said that improving User Experience on a website is important for businesses to increase conversion rate, improve user retention and maximise advertising return on investment (ROI). “Too often the only person missing from a stakeholder meeting to discuss design is the user and they’re the most important decision maker! Without high quality user research, you’re essentially designing a website for yourselves and not for the people that will be using it, that’s why paying attention to UX is important.” said Mr Isabelle.

Patrick Cunningham, chief technology officer at Indulge Media, said: “Russell’s UX certification shows that we put the user at the heart of our web design and digital marketing services, ensuring that our client’s digital presence is as user-friendly, effective and accessible as possible.”

The agency also recently transitioned from ISO 9001:2008 to the latest ISO 9001:2015 standards. ISO 9001 is a set of management principles that form the foundations of the business at Indulge. These principles enable tracking, measurement and improvement on key business performance indicators. The ISO 9001: 2015 standard has a greater focus on mitigating business risks.

“Renewing our BSI accreditation demonstrates our commitment to high quality web design and digital marketing services, and ensures that we run our business in an ordered way with a culture of continuous improvement,” said Mr Isabelle.
