Locate Guernsey will announce the results of its first year of activity at a presentation at St James on 25 January.

The initiative was set up to encourage entrepreneurs, established businesses and individuals to relocate to Guernsey. The objective was to generate additional revenue for the island through house sales, taxation and local spending along with the creation of jobs.

During 2016 Locate Guernsey was present at many promotional events in the UK and Europe including its own self-hosted event in London in October which attracted intermediaries, advisers and potential relocators.

Head of Locate Guernsey, Richard Le Tocq, said: “It’s been a busy year of prospecting for the team with strong support from many sectors of the community. We have had an encouraging starting year, which we will report in detail at our presentation, and we will be looking forward to what 2017 will bring.

“Our work is an ongoing process with some long lead times and, with a team of five promoting the island as a relocation destination, we are confident that 2017 will bring further success.”

Locate Guernsey reports to the Committee for Economic Development and is funded by the Policy and Resources Department.
