Local entrepreneurs in Guernsey will have an opportunity to boost their pitching skills at a special workshop organised jointly by NatWest and Startup Guernsey this month.

The ‘Pitching Workshop’, hosted by the team at entrepreneurial-spark, an organisation that aims to enable positive social change through entrepreneurship, will look at what skills are needed by entrepreneurs in order to help their business idea get off the ground and grow, and what they need to do to secure essential funding.

Pitching in front of strangers for funding or new business is amongst the most difficult things a new business has to do. That’s why Startup Guernsey and NatWest are hosting a pitching workshop for Guernsey businesses, to help develop and refine their business pitches.

To be held on 18th May at Startup Guernsey’s premises at the Digital Greenhouse from 12:30-3:30pm, the event will also feature The Beauty Kitchen, a business that has already benefited from the support of NatWest and entrepreneurial-spark, who will be on hand to share their experiences and knowledge.

Rob Girard, Senior Country Head, NatWest, said: “NatWest has long been a supporter of local entrepreneurs and this pitching-workshop style event will be invaluable in giving those people who want to take their idea to the next level, who need to engage better with stakeholders and who are looking for funding, the insight and knowledge they need.”

Jennifer Strachan, CEO of Startup Guernsey said: "Startup Guernsey is delighted to support this workshop aimed at helping clients develop and refine their business pitches. We are grateful to NatWest for bringing the entrepreneurial-spark team over to Guernsey to support local start-up / scale-up businesses. This event is part of a range of events that Startup Guernsey helps to deliver in order to encourage local entrepreneurship and we could not do so without the sponsorship of companies like NatWest."
