C5 Alliance in Guernsey has appointed Simon Tidd as project manager in its growing project delivery team.

Mr Tidd is an experienced leader who has worked in a range of industries across the public and private sectors. He will assist the team in delivering strategic projects that centre on business optimisation and change management.

Born in Guernsey, Mr Tidd is an ex-army officer with operational experience in Iraq and Afghanistan and has worked for the Royal family. Following his time in service he completed an MBA at Warwick Business School, graduating with distinction, before joining a London-based change and transformation company that specialise in implementing strategy in FTSE 250 and private equity owned companies.

Matt Thornton, director of processes and platforms at C5 Alliance said the appointment was an important part of expanding the company’s project delivery offering.

“Simon has an interesting background, something which has armed him with an impressive skillset. His ability to lead, improve performance and enhance systems and processes through analytical practice will prove instrumental as we build on our project delivery team,” he said. “Welcoming Simon back to Guernsey from the UK aligns well with one of C5’s primary aims: to bring talented people back to the island. This benefits both the local industry and economy.”

In his new role, Mr Tidd will work with C5’s business solutions teams to ensure effective delivery of service, as well as developing its turnkey project management solution for clients.

“By increasing the team, we will also be able to further augment our project delivery solution for clients. Simon’s background in change and transformation, along with his dedication to high standards of client service, will play a big role here. In the current economic and regulatory environment there is a great call for change management, along with an increased appetite for using technology to improve business systems and processes, lower costs and deliver competitive advantages. Our improved project delivery team will be able to meet this need,” said Mr Thornton.
