The Channel Islands largest public relations consultancy, Orchard PR, is celebrating ‘Twenty’ years this year by championing communication and donating £5,000 to charity.

With ethical communication at its core, Orchard invited twenty high profile islanders and PR professionals from Guernsey, Jersey, the Isle of Man and London each to contribute a blog post on a specially-created blog site – orchardpr.com/twenty - on the theme of communication and what it means to them.

Among the contributors are ITV Channel Television Jersey news editor, Gary Burgess, Ketchum PR partner and chief engagement officer and former CIPR president, Stephen Waddington, Sure Isle of Man PR and marketing manager, Sarah Jarvis, musician, Mura Masa and States of Guernsey president, Gavin St Pier.

Orchard PR managing director, Steve Falla, said: “We wanted to mark our 20th anniversary in an interesting and thought-provoking fashion and what better way than to look at how people view communication?

“The Twenty blogs do just that and over the course of the next couple of months we will be posting them for people to enjoy and share across social media platforms.

“It is a privileged position to be able to look back over 20 years and note the significant changes and advances for PR globally and locally, not least the advent of the chartered PR practitioner.

“Orchard started life with two people and has grown to 14 motivated, professional, ethical PR consultants. In that time our industry has grown in stature as more and more businesses recognise that communicating clearly is vital in a noisy world.

“While the methods of communication are changing rapidly the essence of good business communication remains the same and Orchard is proud to be leading the charge in this regard.”

Each guest blogger was asked to nominate their chosen charity and Orchard has donated £250 to those nominated. Details of which charities have been chosen can be found on the blog.
