Locate Guernsey has appointed an experienced private client lawyer to represent it in the UK. Edward Stone, who has existing business connections with the Island, will perform business development duties as the agency’s Strategic Residence Consultant.

Mr Stone has more than 20 years’ of experience advising High Net Worth Individuals, trustees, beneficiaries and settlors on wealth succession planning and on questions of residence.

Andrew Carey, the Interim Head of Locate Guernsey said, ‘The UK is a key marketplace for Guernsey and where most of the island’s High Net Worth Residents will have come from. Edward’s contact book is exceptional and he’ll be promoting living in Guernsey to the UK professional advisor community who in turn will advise their own wealthy clients. This is a very positive development for Locate Guernsey, and indeed the island more broadly, as inward investment remains a key matter for Guernsey.’

Mr Stone, has written for several industry journal and publications and also spoken regularly at financial planning conferences. A fluent French speaker, he has experience of personal relocation during his career, so can speak from that perspective as well.

‘Guernsey is a fantastic place to live and work,’ said Mr Stone, ‘and I’m really excited to play a part in conveying that message to the wider world. The very high quality of life in the Island; its attractive tax regime for businesses and individuals and the ready-made ‘route-in’ represented by the Open Property Market, mean that Guernsey is an excellent place for relocations.’

Mr Stone has already spent some time in the island meeting Locate Guernsey’s key stakeholders and building the contact list still further.
