Guernsey’s General Election takes place on 27 April and candidates wishing to stand are being invited to attend a presentation in the States Chamber next Thursday night.

Current States Members, Chief Minister Jonathan Le Tocq and Deputy Matt Fallaize and outgoing Member, Deputy Allister Langlois, will sit on a Panel and answer questions.

The event aims to provide prospective candidates with an opportunity to ask current politicians questions in order to help them consider whether they should stand for election.

The campaign to register people onto the Electoral Roll has been under way since September 2015 with a total of 26,707 people signed up to vote on 27 April 2016. Anyone wishing to have the opportunity to vote in the General Election will need to sign up by 29 February.

Nominations will be accepted between 21st and 31st March.
