More than 20 young people who might not otherwise had a Christmas present will receive a gift from Rossborough.

The insurance broker is providing £25 vouchers to 10 boys and 14 girls aged from 11 – 17 who have been identified by the Family Partnership Team from Health and Social Services Department.

"Unfortunately there are some families in Guernsey whose finances don’t stretch to presents at Christmas," said Debbie Shorrock, acting manager of the Family Partnership Team.

"That can be very difficult for those young people but thanks to Rossborough’s generosity, they can go into Town and choose some music, a computer game or a new outfit and we know that will definitely bring smiles to their faces."

Rossborough supports a different charity each year as well as sponsoring the West Coast Challenge for the Baubigny Schools and Licence To Kill, a tri-service road safety initiative that brings together Guernsey Police, St John’s Ambulance & Rescue and Guernsey Fire & Rescue.

"Rossborough will be 80 years old next year and that will be cause for celebration but we are very aware that some people have very little to celebrate this Christmas. We wanted to do something that would make a real difference and so we are delighted that we can work with the Family Partnership Team and hopefully make Christmas more cheerful for these youngsters," said Rossborough Insurance managing director Ian Stewart.
