Startup Guernsey celebrates Global Entrepreneurship Week by organising a series of events and workshops

A packed week of inspirational events for entrepreneurs will be hosted by Startup Guernsey from 13th-17th November as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

Global Entrepreneurship Week is a worldwide celebration of business activity and entrepreneurship designed to inspire entrepreneurs and encourage people to start and grow their own business. It is not just a week of activities for startups; it's also aimed at people who have never before considered launching their own venture who can come along to take advice and be inspired. 

It will be the seventh year that Startup Guernsey has organised events in Guernsey to celebrate this special week and the 10th anniversary of Global Entrepreneurship Week itself, an initiative which has helped over 50 million people unleash their ideas and share one global entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Startup Guernsey will be putting on various events at the Digital Greenhouse in Market Square. These include a Speed Networking event with thebestof Guernsey, a Wordpress workshop with AB Design, an introduction to G Suite with Google certified trainer Martine Ellis, a vision boarding workshop with Sasha Kazantseva-Miller from Island Mums and a Social Media Café hosted by All Things Social.

Startup Guernsey will also be hosting a Food Entrepreneurs Event with a range of entrepreneurs sharing their stories about setting up their businesses in the food and drink industries. Speakers include Primrose Matheson from Primrose Kitchen, Charlotte Dickson from Guernsey Oysters and James Le Gallez from Aperitif, who will all give a short presentation on starting their businesses. In addition, members of the Guernsey Community Kitchen will be discussing their journey so far from concept to traction. This will be followed be a panel discussion, chaired by Jennifer Strachan, CEO of Startup Guernsey.

FinVention 2017 will also take place on Wednesday 15 November 2017 at St James. Combining three central themes – Digital Guernsey, Great People and Great Innovations – FinVention 2017 is an interactive one-day forum showcasing ‘the best of breed’ in innovative technological products and services in the FinTech, digital, creative and start-up sectors. Key note speakers include Alastair Lukies and Ryan Radloff and Startup Guernsey is delighted to sponsor the Happy Hour and networking at the end of the afternoon.
