There was significant overtopping of waves along the west coast during the high tides but none of the sea walls were breached at the weekend.
The shingle bank breached on the high tide on Sunday morning and repairs were completed here at 15:30 on Sunday afternoon and the road re-opened.
At Fermain there has been damage on this morning's high tide to a section of the wall at the southern side of the bay. A temporary repair had been undertaken to undermining at this section of wall pending better weather and tidal conditions but this was lost during this morning's exceptional tide. The beach is temporarily closed pending inspection as the remaining wall may be unstable.
The only other reports were a 5m length of undermining of the sea wall at Vazon which has been repaired today, as has a damaged section of masonry on the sea wall at Rocque Poisson. There is some cracked mortar on the masonry wall near Cobo Road which arrangements for repairs are being made for. The States Property Services Engineers are inspecting sea walls along the East coast this afternoon.
