Full Description

If you’re looking for a role that offers more variety and exciting problem-solving challenges, then we’ve got the perfect opportunity for you right here at Ports of Jersey as an Airport Electrical Technician.

As we manage and operate the Island’s airport, harbour and marina gateways you’ll be working on vital equipment that keeps Jersey ‘open for business’ and people and goods moving in and out safely.

Our infrastructure, assets and facilities portfolio is probably quite different to what you’ve come across before. So, as long as you have the core ‘technical’ experience, we’ll provide any specialist training/courses you’ll need to expand your skills and knowledge within our supportive team environment

With training provided for our specialised systems, you’ll need at least a BTEC level 3 with good post-training experience in an electrical, electronic or electro-mechanical setting and be up to date with the latest IEE wiring regulations.

This is a core hours role, Monday to Friday, 8.00am to 16:00pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain documentation relating to equipment maintenance and repair in the form of drawings, technical reports and maintenance records.
  • Report back on work done, materials used, time taken, further work required and asset condition using the asset management system for both reactive and planned maintenance work.
  • Provide technical advice, guidance and support to PoJ management, and business partners, on electrical engineering issues relating to the department’s work.
  • Maintain a knowledge of current trends in electrical, electronic, environmental/sustainable and allied technologies to ensure relevant developments are considered when carrying out duties.
