Freeda offers a range of support services to women and their children suffering domestic abuse. Clients do not need residential qualifications to receive help or to stay at the safe house; they are given the opportunity to talk confidentially about their situation and offered advice and guidance appropriate to their needs by trained staff. Freeda is seeking a Children and Family Support Worker (CFSW) to work closely with children and their mothers who are living in our safe house. As part of the team, CFSW will complement the work undertaken by support workers to provide a safe, supportive and welcoming environment where families feel they can share their experience of abuse, start their recovery journey and feel empowered and confident to challenge violence and abuse. By developing and providing family support and play sessions to children, young people, and their mothers staying at the safe house, the CYPW’s role is to enable children to express themselves, understand and process their experience whilst supporting their understanding and learning with regards to positive relationships.
