Full Description

The Children’s Commissioner is seeking expressions of interest from persons who wish to be considered for membership of the Audit, Risk and Advisory Panel. 

The Audit, Risk and Advisory Panel is established under the Commissioner for Children and Young People (Jersey) Law 2019 to provide the Commissioner with advice and assistance in relation to the following matters – 

(a) The use of resources by the office; 
(b) The management of risk by the office; and 
(c) The governance of the office. 

The Panel will comprise of at least three members and must consist of persons who (taken together) have a broad range of experience relevant to audit and risk management. Members will be appointed for an initial one-year period with the option to extend for up to another year. Further re-appointments may be permitted. Members of the panel will carry no personal liabilities or risks. The Panel will meet at least 4 times per year. Members may also be required to be available between meetings via email or phone, on a limited basis and only as strictly necessary. Panel membership is on a voluntary basis and the role is not remunerated.

The primary function of the Children’s Commissioner is to promote and protect the rights of children and young people, and so members should have an interest in this area.
