We love people who get results by doing things differently, so when we're looking for a Commerical Finance Manager, we're looking for someone who can drive efficiency across our global teams through ingenuity and process improvement.

Operating as part of the Finance function of Ogier, this role will be focussed on delivering strategic projects that improve the profitability of the firm through increased financial efficiency.  

This role will be the 'go-to' finance support for a number of new and ongoing improvement projects and will work closely with the client facing and business services teams to drive improvements to the efficiency of our Ogier Legal and Ogier Global businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the delivery of projects including improvements to the following areas:
    • Pricing and revenue and working capital management
    • Cost optimisation and efficiency
    • Data driven decision making
    • Increase opportunities to increase automation into processes
  • Work closely with the senior members of the Finance team to identify industry trends and value creation opportunities to maximise the potential of the team and efficiency of the firm
  • Work with the wider Finance team and monitor internal and external processes and identify and deliver process improvements and automation
  • Play a key role in driving and implementing change projects in the Finance team
  • Create and contribute towards business cases for Finance change projects that support Ogier's wider strategic objectives
  • Act as Finance lead for all transformation reporting and provide ad hoc data analysis as required
  • Design, create and deliver targeted, effective, and collaborative training solutions
  • Create new, and developing existing, guidance and governance policies and procedures to ensure best practice and alignment to transformation projects in Finance
  • Work closely with the Finance Systems team to support users and scope and deliver change projects
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
We are ideally looking for a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA) or, part qualified with the appropriate experience. You will have an analytical and logical mind with a strong sense of initiative and a confident communicator in order to influence different levels of the business.

You will have excellent IT skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in the use of MS Excel, previous experience using ViewPoint / Aderant Expert or other fiduciary services/ law firm practice management software is preferred, but not essential.

Additional skills include:
  • Experience in transformation projects, both in leading projects and in providing finance support to large strategic projects
  • Ability to work proactively and effectively within a team
  • Excellent client service mentality with a ‘can do, will do’ attitude
  • Strong commercial awareness
  • Pricing experience, preferably gained in a law firm 
  • Experience of implementing technical system changes preferred, but not essential.
