This an exciting opportunity to join the expanding Jersey Women’s Refuge (JWR) team as it rises to the never-ending challenge of providing safety and support to those women and children affected by domestic violence.
JWR is seeking an enthusiastic person who has experience in communications and an interest and commitment to working in this field, in support of affected women and children. Increasing demand on JWR’s services in recent years has highlighted the need for greater capacity to develop and enhance our communications activities. These are essential in improving accessibility for those seeking guidance, providing full back up to our outreach services, raising the profile of our work, and keeping our donors and collaborators abreast of all developments.
The role of Communications Officer is key to enabling JWR to meet its overall objectives as outlined above. The role will require engagement of the public island wide to:
ensure people, including children and youth, are fully aware of our services;
raise awareness about domestic abuse and;
garner support and understanding for our work amongst the public, philanthropists and corporations in Jersey.
This will include maintaining lively engagement via all social media and an effective and up to date website.
