Montrose ( www.montroseint.com) works in Africa and Asia delivering health,
education and income generation projects for private companies, United Nations
and UK government. The Montrose group operates through a Head Office in Jersey,
Channel Islands, and two regional offices in Uganda and Myanmar, as well as
project offices in several other countries in Africa and Asia. Montrose is seeking a full-time Communications Officer to support
communications, marketing and project management within Montrose. This position
requires a dynamic and ambitious individual, and would be ideal for a recent
graduate with skills and experience in web development and design, marketing
and communications, and an interest and understanding of international
development. The role will require periodic travel including to Africa, Asia
and UK. Summary Description of Position: The position of Communications Officer will be responsible for implementingthecompany’s marketing and communications
strategy, managing project-specific communications including online, website
and social media platforms, communications and IT support to projects, offices
and bid development, and project management support for new and existing
contracts. Core
Responsibilities:
Company Communications and Marketing: Develop and implement marketing and communications strategy forMontrose
including communication and marketing materials, social media platforms and
strategy, company website design and content, diagrams, infographics, mock-ups
etc.
Project-Specific Communications and Technical Support: Manage online platforms and websites, includingdesign,
technical development and updating; and develop project marketing and
communication materials; provide technical support to bid development.
Project Management: Support the
project management team in designing and managing cost-effective and high-quality
project implementation including drafting and review of reports; management of
consultants and deliverables, budgets and workplans.
Skills
and Experience Required:
Degree in marketing and communications, web design and development,
and/or other relevant discipline (essential)
Excellent web development and database management skills (essential)
Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Publisher, Excel & PowerPoint
(essential) Excellent editorial and writing skills
Demonstrable understanding of international development issues
(essential)
Familiarity with database and web design software (preferred)
Skills and experience in graphic design (preferred)
Project management skills and experience (preferred)
Able to work and reside in Jersey (essential)
