This is a customer focused role requiring a highly
competent technician assistant with a good level of related experience and
expertise to support the delivery of projects and to provide maintenance and
support on a wide range of electrical/ electronic/ Audio Visual/ Access
Control/ CCTV systems/ counting and control systems for external customers.
Also able to assist the IT Systems Experts and Support Officers in the
maintenance and installation of core IT infrastructure and corporate IT
systems. Main Responsibilities:

Assist the IT Systems Teams in the
configuration and maintenance of the existing Ports Corporate Systems and
infrastructure.
Contribute to the installation, maintenance and
documentation of new Audio Visual/ Access Control and a variety of IT systems
installed for the Ports or its commercial customers.
Monitor and analyse systems to ensure they are
working optimally and look for improvements when systems are found to be
working inefficiently.
Contribute to the installation and maintenance of
solutions for customers self-service such as online application for services,
self service kiosks etc.
Assist with the deployment and maintenance of the
Ports operational systems such as Access Control, CCTV, Car Parking system
etc.
Support internal and external technical project
delivery.
Install electro-mechanical sensors and devices
that interface to larger networked systems such as door access controllers,
mag-locks and readers, environmental monitoring sensors, car parking barriers
etc.
Assist the Infrastructure team in the deployment
and termination of the copper and fibre optic network data cabling, keep up
to date records of all connections.
Help maintain the Ports and external customer
CCTV servers and camera networks. Work
with other team members for the delivery of new CCTV infrastructure and
camera installations.
Be
“Customer focused” to deliver solutions for a wide range of systems both for
Ports of Jersey and external customers.
Key Skills:
Hold the City and Guilds Electro Technical
Technology 2357 qualification or equivalent.
Have an interest or experience in IT systems and
be prepared to undergo training to achieve qualifications within this
discipline such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ and other
Microsoft certified courses.
Have at least 3 to 5 years experience in an
electrical/ electronic or electro-mechanical role.
Have the ability and problem solving skills to
work using own initiative, although support will be available from other team
members if required.
Make decisions involving a variety of information
and options, which will require attention to detail.
Have knowledge of the latest techniques and
practises for protecting the IT infrastructure from external and internal
cyber risks.
Have an interest, knowledge or experience of
Access Control/ Audio Visual systems and networks.
Clean driving license required.
Must undertake Disclosure Scotland security
check.
MEWP
license and able to work at heights, although MEWP training can be given.
