ELECTRICIANS… ARE YOU LOOKING FOR MORE?
If you’re
looking for a role that offers more variety and exciting problem-solving
challenges, then we’ve got some perfect opportunities right here at Ports of
Jersey.
We manage
and operate the island’s airport, harbour and marina gateways and you’ll be working
on vital equipment that keeps the island ‘open for business’ and people and
goods moving on and off the island safely. We’re expanding
our in-house engineering team and there’s no doubt our infrastructure, asset
and facilities portfolio is probably quite different to what you’ve come across
before. But that’s part of the
attraction of you wanting to make your working days even more interesting and
rewarding. As long as you have the core
‘technical’ experience, we’ll provide any specialist training/courses you need
to expand your skills and knowledge within our supportive team environment. Working
across the full PPM and RM maintenance and repair programme for the harbours,
and integrating with our established team at the airport, a positive attitude
is as important as your capability. Confident using your initiative, finding
solutions and making sensible decisions, you take pride in getting the job done
brilliantly whether you’re working on your own or with team colleagues. And, because we never know what might happen
next, you have to be flexible and responsive to the urgency of any situation. We
work a 38-hour week, Monday to Friday, and participate in a stand-by rota to
deal with any emergencies. Imagine what
it feels like when you’ve installed and commissioned the electrical
distribution hub for the marine ops centre, fixed the airstrip landing lights, carried
out fault diagnostics on the security x-ray machines, maintained the marina
gates and, just for good measure, sorted out the car park payment machine.
Well, as the saying goes, it's all in a day’s work here! With training
provided for our specialized systems, you’ll need at least a BTEC level 3 with good
post-training experience in an electrical, electronic or electro-mechanical
setting and be up to date with the latest IEE wiring regulations. As well as a
competitive package, working at the Ports of Jersey, we offer MORE
opportunities, MORE variety, MORE challenges, MORE satisfaction, MORE team
spirit, MORE fun … and MUCH MORE to be really excited about for the future. To find out more, please give Zane a call on
