Working
as a finance business partner in the finance team, the candidate will be
responsible for building a strong business relationship with key budget holders
to shape our understanding of business performance, improve accuracy of
accounting practices, and use this information to drive efficiency for both the
finance team and operational departments.Main responsibilities:
Deliver accurate and timely management financial
information by contributing to the monthly accounting and reporting process.
Contribute to financial management of the
business through advice, challenge and support of Budget Holders.
Organise and manage the budget and quarterly
forecasting process, as agreed with the Corporate Finance Manager.
Work with budget holders to produce timely and
relevant reports and accurate forecasts. Collating reliable information and then
interpreting this to non-financial budget holders.
Undertake ad-hoc projects, which are likely to
involve communicating large amounts of complex data in a clear and efficient
manner, and apply judgement to highlight any issues or abnormalities requiring
the attention of Senior Managers, Executive, or Board.
Actively contribute to the Ports of Jersey’s
business change programme.
Key skills and experience:
Preferably educated to degree level (or equivalent) and a
qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, and CIMA).
5 years’ experience working in a relevant
professional environment.
Knowledge of financial controls and procedures.
Knowledge of accounting standards (FRS 102).
Demonstrable experience of Management accounting
and reporting.
Experience of budgeting and forecasting.
Excellent analytical and modelling
skills.
Exposure to business management.
Good excel skills and experience with working
with multiple financial systems.
Good time
management skills.
