Our finance operations manager will play a key role in optimizing our finance operations, partnering with the business to provide a strong foundation for growth and delivering timely and insightful finance data that empowers decision-makers. They will be responsible for overseeing key financial functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement, as well as identifying opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Through effective team management, they will ensure that finance operations run smoothly and efficiently, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Ultimately, our finance operations manager will help drive our company's financial success by providing the strategic guidance and operational support needed to achieve our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the finance operations team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement:
Manage and develop a team of finance operations professionals to ensure efficient and effective operations
Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions including oversight of the preparation and processing of invoices, payments related reporting
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings:
Develop existing finance operations processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement
Establish SLAs with the team to improve efficiency, better utilise working capital and manage procurement processes to reduce costs
Provide timely and insightful financial data and analysis to support decision-making:
Generate accurate and timely financial reports and analysis for internal stakeholders
Collaborate with business partners to understand their financial needs and provide value-added insights
Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders:
Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including vendors and financial institutions to ensure the best pricing for procurement strategies
Represent the finance operations team in cross-functional initiatives and projects, including communicate financial information and updates effectively to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Skills Knowledge and Expertise
Finance Operations Experience: A successful candidate should have a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance operations, with a proven track record of managing accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and procurement functions. They should have a deep understanding of finance operations processes and procedures, including best practices for financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. (Experience with SAP Business 1, Vendr and Yooz would be desirable)
Process Improvement: The finance operations manager should be skilled in process improvement methodologies and have experience identifying and implementing process improvements in finance operations. They should be able to work collaboratively with other departments to identify opportunities for process improvement, develop recommendations, and implement changes to streamline financial processes and procedures.
Team Management: The finance operations manager should have experience managing and developing a team of finance professionals. They should have strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve their goals. They should also have experience setting performance expectations, providing feedback, and coaching team members to help them improve their skills and achieve their potential.
