Package- Circa £60,000 (per annum) + 26 Days Holiday + Pension Scheme + Performance Bonus + Private Health + Dental Package + Death in Service + 5 years residency required.Are you passionate about technical accounting matters? Then this vacancy could be the perfect role for you! This is an exciting and challenging permanent role based in Jersey, within a team about to take on IFRS in a fast-growing Telco business! Reporting to our Head of Financial Accounting, Tax & Treasury, this role is responsible for all technical accounting matters, supporting the wider finance team and delivering a significant project to convert JT Group’s accounting framework from FRS 102 to IFRS. The role will contribute to a robust financial reporting framework and compliance with all relevant accounting standards. Working across the business, this role will seek to understand the accounting implications of the businesses’ increasing range of services and contractual arrangements. The role will ensure senior stakeholders in the business and wider Group are well briefed on the potential impact of certain actions on the business’ financial results and reporting.We are a global company at the forefront of technological innovation and offer many exciting employment opportunities across the Channel Islands and around the world. ACA qualified, or equivalent accounting qualification with solid relevant post qualification experience (+ 3 years PQE)
Strong technical knowledge of existing and emerging IFRS
Experienced and prior involvement in external audit working for a BIG 4
Experience of working in teams and actively contributing to their success
Ability to meet targets under time constraints
Professional attitude
Confident and self-motivated with a flexible approach to work
Able to tackle complex challenges whilst managing various business priorities and deadlines
Proven experience of developing and delivering technical advice including experience with the preparation of technical accounting assessments and papers, accounting policy and finance process documentation
Fully conversant with Excel and other applicable Microsoft Office application with experience in the use of computerised accounting and ERP systems (eg Sage)

Desired Experience, Skills & Qualifications

Sector experience or experience of working for a Plc company is an advantage
Preparation of consolidated financial statements under IFRS and other UK frameworks
Experience with IFRS 15 and 16
Commercial acumen, able to bridge the gap between the accounting implications of certain actions and the commercial objectives
Can demonstrate experience of bringing discipline, pace and rigour into an accounting function
