NEW STRATEGY … NEW SYSTEMS … NEW OPPORTUNITIES
It’s not often you get the chance to really step back and
review your long-term systems and IT strategy and specify both your
infrastructure and software needs, but our move away from government ownership
a couple of years ago has enabled us to do just that. And, in keeping with
other awesome modernisation developments happening at the airport and harbours,
we’ve shaped a very clear vision and are making significant investments to
create a truly leading-edge and agile digital platform to underpin our diverse
systems environment. We’re proud of what
we’ve achieved so far, and excited by our new direction and the endless possibilities
that we’ll achieve in the future.
It’s hardly surprising that our IT and systems engineering
team has the bit between its teeth as they grow in number and expand the
breadth and depth of their skills and experience. Now we’re looking for more
people to join us working with a hugely varied programme of applications that
will, quite honestly, take your breath away. Some applications are used by
everyone in the business, others meet the specific needs of various teams like
finance, HR and engineering, and others are highly specialist and bespoke to
support our maritime and aviation activities. What might surprise you even
more, is that we also commission, install and manage a remarkable range of
innovative high-quality and tailored AV/CCTV, security and access solutions for
external customers to enable them to run their operations safely and
efficiently.
As a busy team of IT and systems engineers, we tackle the
complex installation and configuration projects, unusual troubleshooting issues
and simple solution fixes, day-to-day maintenance and help-desk activities with
the same degree of focused commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism. We work closely with our customers to really
understand their needs and find the right solutions. We’re passionate about the
technical stuff, and we’re great with people and never compromise our clarity
of communication. We share ideas, we take pride in getting the job done
brilliantly whether we’re working on our own or with team colleagues, and we
support each other to get up to speed with the variety of new and different
applications. We work flexibly and calmly under pressure, we’re creatively
resourceful, we’re logical and with our can-do attitude we make great things
happen.
With a relevant qualification, perhaps to SFIA levels 3-4,
and sound experience and knowledge of IT hardware, virtual and physical systems,
ideally including ITIL, SCCM/SQL/VM and Microsoft, you’re excited to learn and
do more. Dexterous with good colour co-ordination for intricate hardware repair
and comfortable occasionally installing equipment at height, you’ll also need a
driving licence to travel to various sites. We work a 37-hour week, Monday to
Friday, and participate in a stand-by rota to deal with any emergencies.
If you’ve got the core technical skills and are
as excited by these innovative opportunities as we are, please give Steve Le
