Jersey Cheshire Home is Jersey’s only residential facility for physically disabled adults in the Island. We provide care and support to those living with a range of physical disabilities who can no longer live in their own home. Care is what we care about. In short you will:
Promote the well-being of residents by making sure their physical, emotional and social care needs are met.
Evaluate and deliver a high standard of nursing care to residents, regularly re-assess their needs adapting, prioritising and documenting planned care.
Involve residents, family members and the multidisciplinary team in the assessment process.
Demonstrate sound clinical judgement, whether that’s administering medicines liaising with internal support services and external care agencies including GP’, OT’s and physiotherapists.
Act as a role model, provide support to colleagues and supervise the work of junior colleagues.
Occasionally undertake management responsibilities in the absence of senior colleagues.
Be appropriately qualified and registered and work within the NMC Codes of Conduct and Scope of Practice.

Our purpose-built facility may only cater for a limited number of full-time residents, but through our additional Day Care, Aquatherapy and Physiotherapy services we help over 60 disabled individuals every week manage and improve their condition to perform the activities of daily living. The salary will be competitive depending on what you bring, the holidays (yes holiday!) are pretty generous and we offer a non-contributory pension equivalent cash sum.
