Full Description

EYECAN is seeking a Rehabilitation Officer for the Visually Impaired to work as part of the Community Team to provide a professional specialist response to support and enable users with sight impairment to maintain and develop independence.    The role involves assessing new referrals, planning individually tailored rehabilitation programs, and training in conjunction with clients and other service providers.    FdSc (Foundation Degree) Rehabilitation Work, Visual Impairment or equivalent ROVI qualification, BTEC in assistive technology or equivalent, and a full valid Jersey driving license are required for the role.

The ideal candidate will possess up to date knowledge in the field of sight impairment, assistive aids and technology, strong planning and organisational skills, previous experience of working within the ageing population or working with people with disabilities and be computer literate in Microsoft Office.   Knowledge of relevant local agencies and legislation is desirable.
