Reporting to the Group IT Director, the Senior Manager of the IT Business Relationship Management (BRM) team will introduce, build and embed BRM services within Ogier. In addition to excellent leadership, you will provide "trusted advisor” services, acting as a bridge between the IT function and IT stakeholders (both internal and external) to ensure Ogier's IT services are understood and adopted, and equally as important that new opportunities and challenges are understood and solved.
Key Responsibilities
- Introduce and build the BRM function, to include recruitment of additional team members (possibly cross jurisdiction)
- Create an operating framework for the BRM function and ensure fellow BRMs adhere to this, evolving as the function matures
- As lead BRM, build relationships across service lines and jurisdictions to gain an in-depth knowledge of business processes and existing use of tech
- Identify and report on opportunities where existing tech can be better utilised to create better business outcomes, such as enhanced user experience, increased efficiency
- Through market research, conference attendance, peer networking and sector specific publications, become an internal expert on the latest legal tech offerings and how these might benefit Ogier
- On behalf of business functions, own significant IT related challenges, representing business stakeholders within IT forums, working across IT teams to successful resolve challenges
- Monitor and report on the BRM function performance, recommending changes where necessary
- As a member of the IT Management Team, contribute to Group IT strategy, opportunities and challenges
Skills Knowledge and Expertise- A track record in influencing change in the professional services sector, both in leading proposals for new IT solutions and in positively influencing and changing user behaviour.
- Extensive experience in the IT industry with expertise in areas of business engagement including project management and business analysis in addition to BRM.
- A broad understanding of the latest developments in technologies, and either experience or a strong desire to immerse in legal technology.
- Significant experience of working in a professional services organisation
- The ability to identify and analyse alternative approaches to dealing with issues and problems.
- The ability to empower others by collaborating on joint ideas and encourages others to view change as a positive process.
- The ability to identify, own and lead initiatives, representing customers within IT and navigating to successful outcomes
- Strong client service mentality
- Structured approach to planning and prioritisation of workload for self and team
- Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills are essential in order to translate complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
- Self-driven, confident and willing to take on responsibility with the ability to balance competing demands.
Professional Qualifications- Approximately ten years' experience in a similar position
- A university degree in a relevant subject is ideal but not essential
- Professional certification in IT Business Relationship Management
- ITIL Certification
