Full Description
As IT Service Delivery Manager (SDM) you will
be responsible for making sure that Islands’ products and services are
seamlessly delivered to our internal and external customers, in an efficient,
timely and cost effectively manner. You will be responsible for a variety of
tasks, to include but not restricted to, leading project teams, rectifying
reliability issues, monitoring progress against targets, tracking KPIs, and also
assisting in the process of monitoring budgets.
The role of a SDM is fundamentally user / customer-facing
and as such you will display a unique blend of business and some technical
savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You
must enjoy spending time understanding problems and issues raised, and then find
innovative solutions to resolve these issues to the benefit of the end user and
ultimately the organisation.
The core duties of SDM is to liaise with all
internal functions to oversee and facilitate the delivery of superior IT services
to the end-users. One of the pivotal
responsibilities of the SDM is to make sure that service delivery and service
support processes are on track, to facilitate the consistent delivery of a high
level of client service in an effective and cost-efficient manner.
The IT SDM is also expected to identify
customer issues and needs by maintaining an excellent relationship with
end-users, stakeholders and the IT department. The IT SDM role embraces both
administrative and relationship roles, and is best suited for skilled and
hard-working individuals who possess superb leadership and interpersonal
skills, and who are passionate about delivering end-to-end customer-driven
solutions.
Technical
skills:
- Expert knowledge of service delivery disciplines such as ITIL and
Prince2
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to maximise business
support software
- An informed and conversant knowledge of company IT budgets and
finances
- Ability to manage conflicts of interest and offer suitable and
logical resolutions
- Strong customer service, project management, and quality control
skills
- Strong resource planning skills
- Excellent experience of managing 3rd parties and 3rd party delivered
services
- Experience of conflict management and resolution
