Full Description

Job purpose;
To support the Registry Officer and the Assistant Registrar with the registration of ships function and support the Registry Officer and Assistant Registrar to give guidance to prospective and current vessels owners, agents, yacht brokers, members of the general public and third-party authorities in accordance with the Shipping (Jersey) Law 2002. 
 The post holder will also be required to support the Maritime Hub by providing an efficient administration service to the team and customers.

Key information on the role;
This trainee role is initially 3 days a week (circa 22 hours) with the view to extending these hours to full time hours (37 hours) after 18 months training. 
 A structured training plan will be in place to ensure the trainee learns the Shipping (Registration) (Jersey) Regulations 2004 and associated procedures to ensure legal compliance with Registry procedures. The plan will also cover the administration of a customer facing asset register in order to have the appropriate levels of confidence in dealing with clients.
