Jersey’s A-Level students have achieved a remarkable 99% pass rate.
Students in the Island outdid UK pupils, who achieved a 98.1% pass rate at A-E grades.
And Jersey students also improved on the number of A* grades awarded, and those achieving the top A* to B grades – both in terms of outperforming last year’s grades and those achieved in the UK.
The results have been warmly welcomed by Jersey’s Education Minister, Deputy Rod Bryans, who said that the hard work of the students and teachers would “open a range of doors to exciting future study and careers”.
The A-Level grades across the Island’s colleges were:
A* - 11.1%.
A – 19.2%.
B – 28.9%.
C – 23.5%.
D – 12.3*.
E – 4%.
U – 1%.
Deputy Bryans said: “I am delighted that this year’s A-level results have improved on last year’s already strong performance.
“I would like to congratulate the students who have worked hard to achieve these A-level results, which reflect the dedicated work of teachers and families in supporting our young people.
“These results will open a range of doors to exciting future study and careers.”
Students should now know whether they’ve got into their top-choice university, but if any are unclear, they can contact the Careers Jersey office which is open from 8.30 am to 5 pm from Monday to Friday.
