Jersey Airport's security search area is going to get an extension, providing more space and areas for passengers to prepare.
The layout will increase from the current 32 m2 to a revised layout of circa 115 m2, with the boarding pass desk and passenger entry in central security.
The work is expected to take up to nine days to complete, and will be carried out by Ports of Jersey's Group Technical Services Team.
The check-in area and airside lounge facilities will be unaffected, but Ports have warned that there is likely to be come impact visually due to harding in place and some temporary alteration for accessing central security, with signage in place to assist passengers.
It comes as part of a process which has seen recruitment and training of more security agents, and will feature an upcoming review of the airport's current technology.
Ports of Jersey, Airport Director, Robin MacRae, said: "The comfort, safety and security of airport users is a priority and we recognise some of the issues faced when traveling through security, especially during busy times.
"Security remains an essential part of the journey and we are committed to enhancing our services to ensure that the facilities we provide make it a smoother process for our passengers."
